In this installation the artist borrows the easy recognizable image of a jar as a container for preserving fruit and vegetables.
Formally the artist has changed nothing. There is a jar, a fruit or vegetable into the jar and a texted information on the jar. However, viewers will know nothing about calories, fats and carbohydrates. Fruit and vegetables here are a source of information which triggers memories connected to people, events or traditions. And the text on the jar talks about it. The number of pieces in the installation is variable. Any person can share with his or her story.
Indeed, it isn’t a story about a tomato or cucumber, but about a political or economic situation, interethnic relations, superstitions, traditions, and so on.
